The descriptive study was an exploration of the Traditional Ethnic Attire of Central Bontoc, its implications and preservation. It also sought to find the different ethnic costumes available in Central Bontoc and their cultural implications. As well as the challenges encountered in the preservation of ethnic costumes. The data gathering was qualitative method using interview and documentation. Respondents were remaining individuals knowledge of the topic were interviewed. Key informants include elders, designers, and individuals who often wear traditional clothing.
Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn (1) ethnic costumes including ornaments paired to go along with the style, as an identity to their culture. Including, the meaning of the symbols and its implication. (2) Preservation on the said ethnic costumes is being adhered to especially by elders and weavers to regain the lost art of weaving and culture as a whole.
Based on the conclusions, the following recommendations are forwarded (1)Skill training on the development of ethnic cloth weaving is recommended in order to enhance the talents and skills of the younger generation and sustain the availability of the ethnic material culture of the people of Central Bontoc. (2) More improvements and in-depth study on the uses, meanings, and implications of the ethnic costumes is recommended in order to pass down for the next generation.
