The practicum on backyard broiler production which was conducted in Lubon, Tadian, Mountain Province from December 1, 2006 to February 2007 served as an avenue for the student to gain first hand information in broiler production.
By applying the poultry management practices which are brooding, lighting, feeding and watering, and general management of the poultry, the student was able to raise 47 broilers out of the 50 chicks she was assigned to work on. The broilers had an average weight of 2020 grams on the last (8") week of the practicum from an initial average weight of 200 grams during the first week of the practicum.
The expenses totaled to seven thousand five hundred seven and fifty centavos (P7,507.50) while the profit is two thousand two hundred and forty nine pesos (P2249.00).
